An ecological, biological, or organic product is certified and carries the corresponding ecological seal according to organic production regulations.
Organic production is based on respect for the environment and establishes basic requirements for the production, labeling, and control of products from livestock, aquaculture, and agriculture.
All organic products respect the environment, improve the lives of animals, and provide consumers with more nutrients because they maintain natural growth cycles in both agriculture and livestock. Additionally, they eliminate the residues that come with food and accumulate in our bodies (fertilizers, pesticides, hormones, antibiotics).
The exception
The fish jars do not have the European organic seal, and we'll tell you why: European legislation does not allow wild fish to be considered organic as their diet in the wild cannot be controlled.
That is why the jars that contain wild hake (a fish that cannot be obtained through fish farming) cannot have this seal.
Although our products have a long shelf life, our production process does not involve artificial preservatives.
On the other hand, our products undergo a natural sterilization process: once the products are packaged and vacuum-sealed, they are exposed to high temperatures in a special chamber to eliminate any microorganisms from the product and prevent its decomposition.
It's a process similar to what we do at home when we want to prepare preserves. This is how the product can be preserved for much longer.

labeling of the physical product, as there you will always find the most accurate information about allergens.

Please note that, once opened, the products must be consumed within the established period
indicated on the label.
Our recommendation is that, once opened, the jar should be consumed within a maximum of 24 hours, as long as you keep it in the refrigerator. In case you do not finish it and you are not going to consume it in those 24 hours, you can freeze it.
Check if the safety button on the top lid of the jar clicks or sinks: if it does, DO NOT CONSUME. It may have experienced a loss of vacuum due to an impact during transportation.

According to the WHO and the Spanish Association of Pediatrics, babies can begin to eat foods other than milk at around 6 months of age, although there is no exact date. As each baby is different, this introduction should be guided by your pediatrician or pediatric nutritionist.
We recommend checking the recommended age of each product, which indicates the moment from which you can start offering it, always under adult supervision and when you have already introduced all the ingredients that may be present.

Bisphenol is a chemical found in some plastics related to infant products such as bottles, containers, spoons, plates, and is associated with effects on the baby's cardiovascular and endocrine systems.
At Smileat, we opt for packaging and lids without Bisphenol A, although its use is allowed according to the regulations of Spain and many countries.
